“Jehovah Jireh ……………the Lord will provide.”
It’s 2012, delve. Where? Into Truth. This was the theme for our Annual benefit concert held in January. January in many instances is usually
cold, gloomy and a period when some people experience withdrawal from all the festivities of the Christmas season, as well as the sinking
feeling at the pit of their stomach at the arrival of ‘the bills.’ The piper must be paid. There is also the struggle to keep those well meaning
resolutions made on January 1. What better time to have a Gospel concert! The purpose is to uplift, renew, rejuvenate and offer hope for the
future as well as add to the church’s building fund.
Our concert did all of this and more. It began with the weather – waking up to a snowy day, a perfect day to remain under the
covers. But God! By midday, the sun was out and from then on the weather was perfect. There was a packed program and from beginning to
end the audience was captivated and went joyfully along on the musical journey ‘delving into Truth.’ There seemed to be a special magic in the
air, a sense of joy, peace, love, laugher, excitement and well-being, all the nature of God as our MC, Rev. Gavin Sullivan led us on the journey.
The opening songs by our chapel soloist reminded us of all that God can do and that we can trust Him because He cares for us.
We had variety of artistes, a delightful children’s choir, pianists, saxophonists, trumpet, quartets, soloists, and more – all very
talented and brimming with energy. Everyone had a story to tell in song of the love of God and the part He plays in our life. They made a ‘joyful
noise unto the Lord.’ Away with gloom and doom, I am sure there was not one sad face in the crowd. We are so blessed; we are loved with the
everlasting love of God. From beginning to end the program flowed smoothly, there was a message for everyone present – those who needed
healing and were open and receptive to it, received it, all the cares and concerns of the day were forgotten and we rejoiced with one accord.
We went home filled to overflowing with God’s love and grace.
Our thanks go out to all those who contributed to the success of our concert, the talented artistes, the Sound System Control crew,
the MC, those behind the scenes, the audience, those who in spite of challenging circumstances still made the effort to attend, and above all,
our Father, God, without whom, none of this would have been possible.
Father, we are grateful.
God bless you all.
