Unity Church of Agape- Scarborough, Ontario -
AGAPE! Dear Friend, It’s incredible! We are in the ‘I love you’ month. The second month in the year is associated with love. After wishing every one a Happy New Year we are to love them just the way they are. The scripture commands us to love. Love your neighbor as yourself. And who is my neighbor? Everyone with whom I come in contact. If we do not love ourselves how can we love any one else? I begin this new day by first loving myself, accepting myself, forgiving myself. I see myself as God sees me from creation, flawless blameless. God loves me unconditionally without reservation. In God’s sight there is nothing in me to be forgiven. When I know how I am positioned with my God I can see and love every person I meet knowing that they are precious and perfect also. We are called lights, light needs no correction, all it needs to do is shine and the darkest corner is illumined. We are expressions of God’s love that nothing can resist, even the vilest criminal will respond to love. God is love and dwells within each individual. We are told to owe no one anything but love, we can begin today to pay our debts by sending love to all those to whom we were rude or unkind. We can send them a loving thought or speak a kind word on their behalf. We can make a decision to be more loving today, to silently send love to people we know or do not know, to pray for healing for those we have met, never met or will never meet. At our church we pray for the disaster victims we read or hear about daily; to those who have lost loved ones we send love, strength and courage. There are many ways in which we can express the love of God to hurting folks. The desire to be helpful conveys our love. Because someone is praying for them and sending love and blessings, help comes quickly to them. Love is a magnet that attracts amazing good from near and far, blessing the sender of the love as well as the recipient of the love. All that we do must be done for the love of God and not for self-gratification. Scripture tells us to love the Lord our God with all of our mind, heart, and soul, we do this by loving the Christ in our self and others, by seeing others prosperous, whole and well; by rejoicing over our own successes as well as the success of others. Knowing that we are made in the image and likeness of God and God is love then loving should be natural to all of us and every person must respond to love. Animals and plants respond positively to love for love is the greatest power of all, it touches and uplifts everything. Paul tells us that to speak with the tongues of angels, or to give away all that we have, without love it will profit us nothing. Our refusal to express this dynamic power more freely could be the cause of all our woes and ills, God’s love must be constantly in expression. If we want to enjoy radiant health and bountiful prosperity let us get into the love express business. Love everyone and everything that our God has pronounced good, ‘a new commandment I give to you, that you love one another as I love you.’ Jesus declared the love of His Father in His final prayer for His disciples when He prayed, ‘that the world may know that Thou has sent me, and has loved them as thou hast loved me.’ John 17:23. Love is greater than faith and hope therefore love can move mountains of negation. Let us affirm often, ‘the love of God blesses my life and affairs and draws to me unimaginable good.’ Dear one, we thank you for your generous support to this church, the love you send out returns to you and your family, bringing multiple blessings. The good that you do follows you around creating greater good. May God continue to fill your life with His grace, courage, happiness, peace and harmony, radiant health and prosperity. God Bless you. I love you. Violet Happy Valentine
